Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE)
Athletes are responsible for everything they ingest. Athletes may become ill or have conditions that require them to take medications. If an athlete is required to take medications and the medications contain substances which are on the WADA Prohibited List, a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) may give that athlete the authorization to take the medications that he/she requires.
The athlete must complete a TUE application process to apply for authorization to take medications which fall under the Prohibited List - before they take medication.
