The continental confederation and the world’s biggest badminton brand have already been in partnership eight years and this latest agreement is clearly a positive sign and a vote of confidence in Badminton Europe.
Badminton Europe President, Poul-Erik Høyer, said the sports organisation is very happy to solidify their association with Yonex; a market leader and known for high-quality badminton equipment and clothing.
His comments came at a Press conference in Odense on the penultimate day of action in the Denmark Open 2012. Managing Director at Yonex, Shuichi Yoneyama, responded in like fashion, stating Yonex is pleased to continue the relationship with Badminton Europe as the company wants to be an active partner in developing badminton in Europe.
The two gentlemen formalised the agreement by signing the new contract in front of other officials and media.
Meanwhile, Høyer, who has been President of Badminton Europe since 2010, confirmed he will seek re-election to that post at Badminton Europe’s Annual Delegates’ Meeting in 2013. Additionally, he disclosed that Badminton Europe will move to more spacious offices in January.
