The BWF has announced the date and process of elections for 3 members of the Athletes’ Commission. The term for the positions is 4 years.
The attached letter from the Chair of the Athletes' Commission provides more information on the process.
The elections will be held during the qualification and the first day of the main draw at the YONEX German Open 2013 and the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships 2013.
In short – the process is as follows:
5 February 2013 – Deadline for Nominations – Nominations for election to the Athletes Commission must be made in writing and sent to j.sung@bwfbadminton.org
12 February 2013 – Confirmation of Candidates – the list of candidates will be sent by email to Member Associations, badminton players and the candidates themselves. The list of candidates will also be published on the BWF website.
26-27 February 2013 and 5-6 March 2013 – Elections - the elections will take place during the qualification and the first day of the main draw at the YONEX German Open 2013 and the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships 2013.
Once voting is complete the female and male player with the highest number of votes will automatically be elected to the Commission. The final position will go to the player (male or female) with the next highest number of votes.
